    long drive.

    going to collect a car in london soon. can anybody give me an estimate on how long it will take me to get to holyhead?? need to book the ferry.

    i did it in 5 hours in a transit, so a little less in a car.

    Can be, but an enjoyable drive across Wales can be had, provide you're prepared for the extra time. Budget 6-6.5 hours for that sort of route, although I seem to remember something like 5.5 hours from Guildford to somewhere in N. Wales (not quite so far) in my Golf GTI 16V. Watch out for the speed cameras, though.

    hope the weather stays nice, the ferry leaves at 5.15 so would be pushing it a bit. would need to be on the road and motoring around 11 or so?

    Don't also forget that you'll need extra time for any unexpected problems like traffic or the rozzers scraping someone off a lamp-post.
