Windows 7 user here as well and love it!!
You can turn the preview of, iirc you right click the task bar somewhere, properties and it's something in there but I think I might be wrong as I'm not near my '7 pc at the moment so can't tell you exactly
Indeed you are right. Just fired up my Windows PC and if you right click on the taskbar then go to properties you'll find the option "Preview desktop with Aero Peek" just uncheck the box.
