taking picture using pc of the on moniter screen

not sure if it's possible but m8 had some pictures done of his family by professionals he's bought original prints and they supplied 2 pen sticks free which contain screen saver, slide show, and thumb nails in pdf which will not work on his mac, says not compatable .work on my pc running xp but there is something built in so i can view them but not save them to give him a copy as still jpeg so to speak, thinking i could view pictures as individuals the take and save the image that appears on my monitor screen like i have seen before when saving image of your desktop, any one know how to take such an image using pc only.

Use the printscreen button on the keyboard, this will save a copy of the screen to the clipboard. Open up an image editing app e.g. paint and paste the contents of the clipboard. (Click Edit then Paste or Ctrl+V)

It wont be Hi res, but its a file you can work with.
