Looks like it's bye bye o2.

Well after being with o2 since before they were o2, I think my time with them is coming to an end.

My contract is up for renewal on October 24th and as a gold customer, I can upgrade 3 months early. So I've just got off the phone to them enquiring about upgrading my phone and I'm weighing up my options as they have given me a really **** deal. They also no longer do 12 month contracts (how ****ing stupid) so I have to change mine to either an 18 or 24 month contract!

I know Apple set the price for the iPhone, but it's ridiculous that they can't offer their long serving customers any discount at all.

So here are the options they gave me.

    18 months
    £34.26
    600 mins
    500 txts

    Making the iPhone 3Gs 16GB £184.98!

    24 months making the iPhone 3Gs 16GB £84.11!

If I don't want to upgrade my handset they can do me a rolling 30 day contract (Simplicity) for £10 and I get 150 mins and 300 txts.

So I don't think I'll both and when October comes I'll cancel, unless by some miracle they drop the price of the iPhone by then.

    So much for customer loyalty.

Nearly all decent new phones are only available on 18 or 24 month contracts now.

I ****ed O2 off a few months ago.

Well they don't do 12 month contracts at all now, regardless of the phone.

Exact reason i sacked o2 off at Christmas and picked up a BB Storm from Voda for free one a far far better contract then any o2 had offered.

I'd also been with o2 since they were cellnet but Chris id thought in the past when you'd said you were a gold customer... that there is no such thing as loyalty with these guys.

Also, get much better coverage with Voda at work and home, even on the train then o2, worth the change in itself.

    Good luck.

It's not really worth me having a contract really as I have an iPhone from work that costs me nothing. I only wanted to upgrade to get a 3GS but it's not worth it.

Rumour has it that Apple are going to be offering the iPhone on other networks soon as well.
