I test drove one at Meridien Milano near Portsmouth, just to compare with the Abarth Grande Punto SS that I'd just bought recently, in case I fancied a trade-up. I'm not too keen on the more smoothed...
1999 S Reg Black Punto GT 2-litre (and no, it's not declared as such on the V5 - couldn't find the 16VT engine no.)
Soon to be, hopefully, re-taxed after some fettling and MOT etc.
IIRC, I was advised this sequence:
1) SEB2 chip + manual boost controller (+ accurate aftermarket boost gauge), max. 1.2 Bar boost
2) free flowing cat-back exhaust
3) FMIC + decat pipe, max 1.3...
It will depend what other modifications you plan and when, but SEB2 is probably best for reliability and budget. Do pay attention to the brakes and handling too, though.
I believe Matt/shorty had one up for sale recently.
According to my ePER only the D and TD models have the same rear gearbox mount as the GT.

Regarding the driver's seat, it may be the control cable from the handle to the seat lock is detached or possibly broken.

Umm, AFAIK all GTs were wired for a standard (Meta) alarm? :confused:

There may be cheaper alternatives, but I haven't researched that yet.
There seem to be a number of ifs, ands or buts for iPod/iPhone connectivity, depending upon Reg. year and the presence or absence of the Blue and Me option.

AFAIK, there should be a USB port in the glovebox, although I'm unfamiliar with iPod connectivity capabilities.
The workshop manual states a max. of 1.05 Bar for the 16VT, but I'm unsure if that's the standard "controlled maximum".
Gauge supply split/cracked, bad connection, sticking gauge (e.g. Plasma Dial face on std. gauge)?
