Change of server and hosting...

Currently PSC is tied into a deal that is paid per quarter. The package has probably never been adequate and puts the site and its data at risk...

We will be changing to a new host on quicker servers this evening/tonight whereby the costing will be the same but we have twice as much space and bandwidth, a service we can communicate with properly and with someone who can tackle any vBulletin updates and upgrades!


In short, the forum may be unavailable this evening/overnight so not to worry if it won't load up for you however don't keep trying and pop back friday morning instead.

The data and forum are backed up to lastnight so there is a chance anything posted today may be lost.

Well overdue TBH. Good Job Dan and John know what they're doing :thumb:

Not sure if anybody else knew, because I didn't... But PSC is hosted on servers in the USA, so we're hoping to get a performance increase once the swap is made to our new host here in the UK.

We always thought Chris was spending too much on hosting because he never shopped around, turns out he was paying too much for not nearly enough, so at least now we don't run any risks and have lots of space to grow!!

It hasn't happened as yet. Backing up from the server is taking an age unfortunately.

I'll slip another post up here when downtime is expected.
