My mk2 sporting is 30mm lower at the front and 40mm at the rear from standard (not my work) and currently on 15s. Will it take 16's under the arches without having to do any hacking around? cheers!

Im sure you're already aware of this and dont need me mentioning it but tyres for 16" wheels usually set you back the same if not more than tyres for 17" wheels because 16" is an unsual size.

Thought it was worth mentioning :o

But back to the question at hand, as previously stated they will fit.

Not all 16" alloys will fit. I tried fitting my old 16" stilo alooys to a friends 1.2 sporting & the car wouldn't move so some applications may require spacers.

If you try to fit wheels with the wrong fitment of course they won't fit
