well next is coloured skirts and handles, full paintwork touch up.

it will be lowered but cambelt and service is more important, and id rather have the dents removed than lower it... but it will deffinatly be lowered, iv got the springs, just got to get them fitted.

lol the stickers are nice!

i want some plasma ones but cant afford em atm.

29th August 2007, 22:15
How much do they go for? I saw them on a diff forum and was really impressed.

Oh, love the wheels btw, they really suit the car.

Yeah service and cambelt is more important, but I obv didnt know that needed doing :p

Why not fit the suspension yourself beau? Its not too hard?

But i have to say this is the best you have had and just keep it tidy.....

i might... how hard is it? well i wont do it my self :p but il see if my uncle and his mate can do it... they did my rear shocks on my orange one for the mot... hopefully they can do springs...

thanks! and i am keeping it tidy... :) lol

Its really easy....fronts are more trouble and i havent done mie yet as one of the strut bolts is seized to **** so i need to take it up the garage to get it loosed with the air gun.......(i hope)

But the back is really easy took me about 30 mins to do the back and i was in no rush......and that is on my own with no help.......all you need is an 18mm spanner.....and a jack.....(car jacked up on axel stands for saftey fisrt)

Put car up on axel stands at rear..........then using the jack jack the rear arm up slightly to take the force of the shock bolts....undo the shock lower bolt....and then lower the jack to let the arm drop down.......do the same to the other side.....and then baisically just pull the old springs out and put the new ones in with the rubbers from the old......jack arm up and put the bolts back in....easy.....

So far i have only done the rears but the difference it has made to the handling is unreal. My old cars suspension was way to harsh on too big a wheels and it handled crap but this is still on steels and the handling is mint.....cant wait to get the front done.....

Pummy
29th August 2007, 23:08
Really easy to do the shocks. If a fat git like me can get the fronts done then you can do it without issue.

the heater vents look stupid IMO,and the wheels are to small.need lowering quickly.

ok lol, and yes a set of 16's would look nicer but 16's slow car down, and dont make it handle as good, and the 15's were free basicly with new tyres, and imo, when lowered they wont look too small at all.

16's loose torque, and smaller wheels, better handeling... surely this is why the racing fiats all roll on 13" wide steelies...

Puntoboy
30th August 2007, 10:37
As I have said many a time.

My 16's are the same size as the standard 14's. Infact I bet they are smaller than your 15's.

So no loss of torque or speed.

yeah but then you have to have low profile tyres which makes the ride bad.

and anyway, i think my 15's look nice :D

Looks fairly smart - but other than a subtle roof spoiler (abarth?), losing the window stickers and maybe lowering, please don't do any more to it......

yes iv got spoiler to go on, abarth, and i will lower, got twin exhaust going on soon too.

iv got full original abarth kit in my room tho... so i might fit that, but i like it as it is without it at the moment.

Not many colours left to collect now Beau..?

Congrats on seemingly your best buy yet.
lol, quite a few left :p

id still say the gt was best buy :p but this is best buy for car which i may actually drive.

Ferret
30th August 2007, 17:40
Doesn't the sporting have a turbo guage on the clocks ? Or is it just the GT ? I thought both did.

Nice car though - And you got the same HU as me.

karting
30th August 2007, 18:00

its got revs, speed and fuel

JoeGT
30th August 2007, 21:34
I thought you were gonna wreck that car but actually it looks quiet good. Dont go for any cheap stickers or badges on it though. I think it looks mint as it is. Definately drop it 60mm And It will be perfect. :D nice buy.

MattMk1
30th August 2007, 22:20
Yea gotta agree, slam it 60mm it will look sweet! You've got the right size wheels to avoid rubbing issues too, my 16's rub on a 40mm drop

Loose the colour coded interior bits, just looks cheap IMO.

currey
30th August 2007, 22:27
lol so are you keeping this one then? sorry couldnt be bothered reading the whole thread.

the only thing im not keen on is the tinted rear lights, dont really suit it now it has white wheels IMO, id be tempted to put the standard lights on.

Agreed!

Seems a good job on painting the skirts from what the pictures show.

Bet your well chuffed, you going to paint and fit the bumper spoilers and the boot spoiler ?

You wanna put down the amount of paint etc used and the cost of it to paint your kit.

well i dont want standard lights :p i think the tinted onesl look nice 8-)

its an ok job, its obviously not bodyshop quality but its deffinatly good enough to fit, im well pleased with the results, plus it cost me under £10 for the paint for both skirts

doing the other skirt and boot spoiler tomorrow, and got to do the 2 other wheels white also, so time consuming though! iv got lots left to do, but it seems to take hours and hours!!!!! lol

then im going to do the front one, but il need more paint.

beau
21st December 2007, 14:00
well im not lowering cos 1. as i said there very close to the speed bumps, i have to go over 4-5 to even get out of my road, also 80% of the time i have 3 people in the back of my car, lowered 60mm + 3 people in car + abarth skirts + speed bumps = big no, and 2. as said above, insurance! its already £2400! lowering is something like 140 extra and 3. its for sale so would be pointless imo.

charlieboy
21st December 2007, 14:29
