right this is gonna sound crazy but im a driver not a mechanic so here we go.

The turbo on the GT is it just a fan on ure exhaust/' manifold to be basic is it possible to rip the turbo parts off a written off GT and bolt them onto a 1.2 60 sx, my car is quick for a 1.2 but need to keep up with a civic,
this idea might be impossible was just an idea would apreciate ure feedback

No offence mate, but its pointless! Ive got a 75sx, its quick for a 1.2, but to put on a turbo, its going to cost, im not a mechanic either but i assume that engine internals would have to be changed, thats a lot of work!

drop the 1.4 turbo in as a whole or go mental and put a 2.0 16vt!

nick, the theory is correct. a turbo is just a fan bolted onto the manifold and the inlet, but the practice is much much more compoicated.

firstly the engine internals are vastly different to cope with the boost a turbo creates, the engine needs to know whats going on, so you need lots of sensors, etc, you also need an intercooler, lots of different hoses and pipes and things.

so.

in a word.

don't bother.

unfortunatly too many people own the 1.1's and 1.2's of this world, and we all hark after more power, but in this instance, either bite the bullet for a GT, or just wait until you can afford a faster car in future.

we've all been there, and its just not worth it.

welcome to the forum btw.

mooki is right on this one guys, i had my 55 got ripped off for an engine conversion, and then jus bit the bullet, and bought the gt. far and away a more superior car with more power than any 1.2 is going to give you at standard.

unless you can buy a COMPLETE car for much cheapness

so u can remove all engine bay components and all brakes etc then its not worth it!

this is what im in the process of doing, i'm also going to fit it myself

from my point of view its still not worth it even if u do that, cos there is soo much more i will lose cos my car is a 55s right now

no ABS
no AIRBAGS
no SUNROOF
factory fitted electric windows
factory fitted central locking
and the insurance will be a killer!! a 1.1 chasis with a 1.4 turbo!! lol

would be fun though dropping in a 1.4 turbo into a 1.1 chassis light as anything fast as fcuk

no power steering either, and you'll have to change over the dials for a boost gauge.

Electric windows? If its a 55S you won't even have a rev counter. Then you have the interior, which is totally different, and the piece de resistance...

........ you'll not have 4 speeds for your heater

exactly, i've got a rev counter and electric windows, plus central lock cos i fitted them all just after i bought the car, but i really want it all factory fitted and not bodged in by me!!

so i need a yellow GT to swap my kit etc on to!!

but then you'll need a respray due to difference in paint :(
