i dont understand the principle of it being 2 channels then if im only using 1?????

Up your ringer

As far as i know.... you will double the output if you 'bridge' the 2 channels together....

PuntoPowerRacer

what do you mean?? sry

puntoicemaster
24th October 2003, 18:27
ok

you have on your amp 2 channels - + - +

but you have 3 thinsg to connect too it

-+ sub -+ -+ speakers

you sub will be connect to the amp like this right??

amp -+ -+
sub - .....+

so if you then connect the speakers as well

amp -+ -+
sub - .....+
com -+ ..-+

or

amp -+ -+
sub -+
com ......-+
.............-+
= smoke or if your lucky it will just sound bad !!

if you get a four channel amp you have this -+-+ -+-+

soooo

amp -+-+ -+-+
sub - ...+
com...........-+-+

see it matches up much better,

trust me what you want to do is sell your 2 channel amp and buy a four cahnnel or another cheap two channel amp !!

joel

ful stops used to line stuff up

rite.. im startin to get ya, lol. sry bout this! umm... wot does it mean where it says that one - and + is bridged??? and the others r normal??

puntoicemaster
24th October 2003, 18:46
bridged means that you effectivly double the power of the amp but not every amp can do this, that is what the first little diagram is...

-+ -+
-.....+

bridged

-+ -+
-+ -+

normal

any more then this is bad

PuntoPowerRacer

so if i did this...

amp -+ -+
sub -.....+ (bridged)
comps-+.-+

it wouldnt work still???

Best bet is to get a more powerful sub that is equal to the power of the amp of higher. Then buy an amp of equal power to your components.

That should aviod anything blowing up and start you off with a nice sounding system.

no coz you will overload the amp, and you will have no high comming form your speakers because on the amp it has 3 settings

HPF no bass just the highs guitars vocals etc

Normal everything bad for subs good for componets

LPF bass only good for subs

now on a 4 channel amp becasu the sub and compnents are running from diffrent channels thses can be indvidually set ...

Mate u is not understanding Aiii

Joel Im not knocking ur knowledge but u have not read my post.

The amp is more powerful then the sub. Therefor get a sub equal to the power of the amp which will mean minimal chance of the sub blowing up.

Get a second amp running another set of RCA's from the head unit for high frequency which is equal power to the components.

Im not saying run the components and the sub off the one amp that is already being used.

Yes a 4 channel will do the job. I have a kicker x405d digital 5 channel amp running one kicker square and 2x sets of kicker componets. I have to run 3 sets of RCA's but it sounds excellent.

No hard feelings mate

yes buying another 2 channel amp is an option, but that would only power components or coax not all four at once unless specified that it can..

the swetest set up is keep th amp you have for the sub, then buy a four channel amp for running then four speakers, ive done it like that for years

Yeah i see what ur saying i was gonna go for that setup but got the kicker x405d for £200 when it should have been £580.

i hadnt read you post buy the time id posted mine then i didnt read your other one b4 posting my other one :? :? :P

the amp and sub combo is fine it was matched up buy a company and purchased as a package deal, and i bet you could run 200w over the subs rating into it b4 the sub blows, im saying connect the too many speakers to the amp it will blow the amp best splitting the whole lot up as i have said b4
